Welcome May we wish you a warm welcome to the Parish of Forrabury & Minster and to our community here in Boscastle. The parishes of Forrabury and Minster were united in 1702 and so is the oldest united benefice in Cornwall, if not the country.
Forrabury and Minster churches', serve the community of Boscastle. The BBC series "The Seaside Parish" was filmed in the parish hence our website is The Seaside Parish Forrabury church, dedicated to St Symphorian and built in Norman times, is sited on the cliff tops in the ancient Forrabury Common and overlooks the community of Boscastle. Minster - formerly Tolcane or Talkarn, meaning rock chapel or cell is the ancient mother church of Boscastle. The site of an ancient monastery and the burial place of St Merthiana. |
